buy custom Advantages of Labor Off-shoring essay

buy custom Advantages of Labor Off-shoring essay The relocation of a companys business process, especially operational processes such as manufacturing, from one country to another is normally so as to lower operational costs in the new location. Production off-shoring involves relocation of physical manufacturing processes to a lower cost destination. When conducting off-shoring business, a company prefers locating its operating base in destinations where there is availability of cheap, skilled labor. Since the average salary for an offshore employee compared to that of an onsite employee is lower, a company can save greatly on its costs in terms of wages. Also, there is a reduction in the human resource burden as a company deals only with the representative of the offshore company instead of having to deal with a large number of workers which saves time. A company is able to save on office space and equipment while at the same time increasing the staff number since the off-shoring company is able to focus more on tasks that have a direct impact to the growth of the company. This ensures that on-site staff works harder and smarter thus attaining higher productivity. A company can easily take advantage of time differences in different parts of the world and thus cater for its customers for twenty-four hours. This boosts the companys growth. In a traditional recruiting process, there is a lot of work involved, such as interviews and employee training. Conducting off-shore business saves a lot of time for top management who would otherwise spend a lot of time interviewing a lot of prospect to fill a few posts. Jobs keep people busy and thus they have no time to engage in evil activities. Therefore, lesser social evils occur, which makes the world a safer place to live in. In addition, inflation remains stable thereby creating a noble env ironment in which the economy can thrive. Buy custom Advantages of Labor Off-shoring essay

Social anxiety Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Social anxiety - Research Paper Example With all the interaction and communication skills, still they find problems while interacting with the society because of the lack of confidence and they cannot deliver in time. Social anxiety also gives very negative effects to a person in regards to the interpersonal skills because when an individual will not meet the people and society, the inter personal and communication skills will not be nurtured and it will in turn augment the problems that are playing a key role in the social phobia of the individual. People going through the phobia of social anxiety always think that they are being judged by other people in the negative way and this is the main cause of the depletion of the self confidence from their personality (Crozier and Lynn, 185). Social anxiousness does not go away except proper diagnosis and tot cause identification of the problems and this is to be done at the first priority. As long as the diagnosis will not be done effectively, the person going through this phobi a will never be able to get rid of the social anxiety because this is a kind of problem that is increase in a very expositive way. Social anxiety is faced by the victims in almost all the day to day activities. When they go out to buy something, they will not be able to interact with the shopkeeper because they will think that other people around them are being judgmental about them. While making a phone call, in college, workplace and markets they feel themselves short of the self confidence to talk and interact with the fellow human beings. No matter how hard they try to get rid of the social anxiety, they always find them facing the same problem. The main reason behind this phenomenon is the lack of awareness about the social anxiety. There was a time when people did not take it as a proper isease and problem and overlook it by saying it a normal habit that can be taken off by normal day to day practices but after the modern research and proper scientific findings, people are rea lizing the gravity of the social anxiety and full fledge researches are being made in order to find out the ways to solve this problem as early as possible. According to a study, the social anxiety is very common among the people and every human being experiences the social anxiety at one stage or the other. The normal percentage of people who face the problem of social anxiety is almost 14% to 15 % of the people. There are many misconceptions spread in among the masses about the social anxiety and this is because of the lack of awareness and less education. Many people believe the introverts to be victim of social anxiety. This is not true from scientific and societal perspectives. An introvert is not a victim of social phobia rather He prefers to spend time without any company. That is the part of normal behavior. If someone prefers to work alone just because of the fact that he cannot concentrate on the work in the noisy environments then He will never be considered as socially a nxious. Social anxiety is different from being less talkative and interactive. Social anxiety comes into play when a person really feels an internal pressure while interacting with people. For example an introvert might prefer to do less interaction with people just because it is not natural way of going

Japan Prime Minister Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Japan Prime Minister - Essay Example Noda inherited the duty of rebuilding the Japanese economy from the adverse impacts of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and Tsunami. It is obvious that Noda is operating under worse economic as well as political environment because the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami and Fukushima nuclear plant disaster affected the country very badly. The catastrophe caused the loss of thousands of lives and billions of dollars. Hence, these issues raised a series of potential challenges to Yoshihiko Noda. According to the policy speech delivered by Noda to the 180th Session of the Diet on 24th January 2012, â€Å"recovery and reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake, fight against the nuclear power station accident, and the revitalization of the Japanese economy† are the three major priority policies of the country. Noda specifically tries to rehabilitate the people who were spread across the country as a result of the earthquake and tsunami. He also plans to amplify reconstruction activities by setting up a Reconstruction Agency and providing huge reconstruction grants. In addition, Noda made provisions for ass isting third party stakeholders who are initiating reconstruction activities. The Prime Minister states that the country will greatly promote employment facilities in the disaster affected region. In the speech, Noda declared that the government will gradually remove nuclear power from the country by not constructing new plants and not repairing outdated ones (Sahashi, 2011). However, the Prime Minister added that some of the idle plants (due to Fukushima disaster) will restart their operations in order to meet the country’s immediate energy needs. In addition, Noda has also framed special strategies for strengthening the country’s disaster management. Improvement of public services including schools and hospitals is another major policy in the agenda of Yoshihiko Noda. He has taken extensive efforts to protect people

Recommendation for reducing substance dependence disorder from Essay

Recommendation for reducing substance dependence disorder from alcoholism - Essay Example Last year, there were 500 new cases of substance abuse mental disorder related to excess regular alcohol consumption. In this report, I give an explanation on better solutions identified by the state welfare committee and present our findings after comparison of substance abuse mental disorder cases in the state. Together with the social welfare committee, we have considered the following solutions: - law enforcement on bar attendants and the owners who sell alcohol to drunken patrons and extending drinking time limits. - increase the punishment of drunkenness and violation of regulations, which controls the selling and alcohol drinking - Social workers to create forums to educate the public on dangers of excessive alcohol drinking. There has been a big increase of substance mental disorder cases over the past couple of years. Excessive drinking of alcohol has been one of the major causes. This increase is attributed to ignorance, violation of rules controlling sale and drinking of alcohol not having effective public sensitization programs on dangers of abusing alcohol and lineament punishment to the offenders. Substance abuse disorder statistics compared The following statistics represents the total cases of diagnosed substance abuse mental disorder in 2010 and 2012 the percentage of the diagnosed cases related to alcoholism (Newton 183). The enforcement of laws that govern alcohol sale and consumption is a major step. This can be enhanced by employing more officers and giving them relevant patrol facilities. This will deter the law breakers from going against the regulations that control alcohol sale and consumption.

Solutions for the Water Deficit

Solutions for the Water Deficit Ground water Takatuf Problem Lack of groundwater become a big problem these days. Groundwater is important and useful; many countries are depending on groundwater to supply clear, reliable water to the citizen. Here in Oman we have the same problem and it mostly exists in Al-Batinah coast where I live. You can utilize this type of water in many other areas such as farming, domestic and industrial. We must find solutions to these problems, to eliminate the deficit in the aquifer because this problem has many negative effects. These effects are a reduction in the level of the earths surface and some dry wells because groundwater descent into the deep, forcing farmers often to deepen the pumps to reach the water but, this solution will cost them a lot. Drought pumps may cause dry conditions in some agricultural regions because they use pumps to provide water for their farms. Some citizen are suffering from drought because they depended on these wells to provide clear water for them to drink it, but, few of those ci tizen impacted by maxing of sea salt water fresh groundwater which Change water quality to become undrinkable and this cause shortage of clean drinking water. In these areas like Al-Batinah people are also facing a shortage of drinking water. This issue exist in Oman before more than 30 years since the population rose. Farmers are more affected by this issue because they depend mostly on the ground water for agriculture. Citizens are suffering too because it is the main source of clean water which they drink. One of the causes of this problem is saltwater intrusion, â€Å"saltwater intrusion is the movement of seawater into aquifers and salt water mixing with ground water, which can contribute to ground water pollution and other consequences† (Wikipedia, 2014). We are facing this problem in Al-Batinah and Salalah coasts, a huge quantity of saltwater intrusion into the aquifers that contaminates clean water. The second cause is water deficit in Al-Batinah coast which is about 350 million cubic meters per year because sea water goes through groundwater layers and this causes groundwater pollution. Rising population is another major cause for this issue, when the population increases the proportion of water consumption increases. The fourth reason of the shortage is lack of rainfall and this affect negatively on the storage of groundwater because; rain is the first source of the groundwater the rain Nourishes the water storage. Solutions Many countries started to solve this issue, for example, United Arab Emirates launched the project cloud-seeding for artificial rain and here is the meaning of cloud seeding, â€Å"Cloud seeding, a form of weather modification, is the attempt to change the amount or type of precipitation that falls from clouds, by dispersing substances into the air that serve as cloud condensation or ice nuclei, which alter the microphysical processes within the cloud.’’ (Wikipedia, 2014). They do some research about the clouds for the operation then they send special airplane for this mission, they target clouds then they seed them, this operation has some consequences if they used it constantly due to the accumulation of silver iodide in the air, which is toxic. This operation cost around 11 million dollars. In Australia and some cities in United States of America they used Aquifer Storage and Recovery Systems. Aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) is the re-injection of potable water back into an aquifer for later recovery and use. ASR has been done for municipal, industry and agriculture use† (Wikipedia, 2014). They dig many wells close to dams and they treat rainwater sea water and after that they inject the water to Tertiary aquifers to store it there to use it any time they need it; this plan was a huge success in Australia and USA and now they want to expand this project. In Egypt they used a strategy, Integrated water resources management (IWRM) which has been defined by the Global Water Partnership (GWP) as a process which promotes the coordinated development and management of water, land and related resources, in order to maximize the resultant economic and social welfare in an equitable manner without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems. (Wikipedia, 2014). Concluding Statement It is hard to choice one of them but, in my view ASR system is the best solution for the country because ASR unlike cloud-seeding it does not have any consequences; it has many benefits. In Al-Batinah we are suffering from floods when the sky rain therefore, it is better to stop the floods by pumping the water to the ground to recharge the groundwater by this solution we do not waste any drop and we stop floods and at the same time we store groundwater. Symbols and Symbolism Essay - Symbolism in Nathaniel Hawthornes The Scarlet Letter :: Scarlet Letter essays

Symbolism in the Scarlet Letter Symbolism plays an important role in the Scarlet Letter. The scarlet "A" is used to represent sin and anguish along with happiness. The "A" has different meanings to people other than what was originally intended. The scaffold is used as a place of repentance and judgment by God. Pearl is another major symbol used as a reminder of the scarlet letter. The scarlet "A" is the most important symbol in the Scarlet Letter. The letter "A" does not have a "universally symbolic relationship" with adultery. The letter "A" was the first letter of adultery and the Puritans put the negative connotation on the letter. The community interprets the cosmic "A" as Angel, signifying the passing of Governor Winthrop. The letter on Hester's bosom represented the sin of adultery, yet as that it meant different things to Hester, Dimsdale, Pearl, Chillingworth and the Puritan community. To Hester it represented "alienation and unjust humiliation" . "Hester looked, by way of humoring the child; and she saw that, owing to the peculiar effect of this convex mirror, the scarlet letter was represented in exaggerated and gigantic proportions, so as to be greatly the most prominent feature of her appearance. In truth, she seemed absolutely hidden behind it." This shows how the community saw a sinner and the "A", not Hester. The women sneered and jested at her in public and wanted to take Pearl from her. The prison also symbolizes isolation and alienation. Hester lives in a prison of alienation and Dimsdale in his guilt. Yet later as Hester shows signs of humbleness by embroidering items for others and still wearing dim colored clothing, the community says her "A" is for able. To Dimsdale, the letter represents his guilt and agony. It constantly torments him throughout the book. It reminds him of his undeclared sin and also how Hester suffers for him. For Chillingworth, the letter is his need for revenge and he wants what is on the minister's chest unveiled to the community. He did not want this to happen as fast as it happened for the letter was Chillingworth's life, and he died shortly afterward Dimsdale's death because he had nothing to do with his life.

Love of country? Essay

Frederick Douglass’s speech â€Å"If I Had A Country, I Should Be A Patriot† delivers a blasting reproach on the discrimination of the African American and why he feels indignant about his country and being unwilling to call himself a patriot. Similar to Langston Hughes’s â€Å"I, Too, Sing America† , both employ a chord informative structure and a canting tone simple enough for the audience to incite a reaction from the audience to plead for freedom in America. Both authors though in different times face the challenges of racism and being an African American in the â€Å"Republic† of America. Douglass explains that even under natural rights there is no spot sacred in America that can secure his right of liberty. He orates â€Å"This is your land of the free†, your â€Å"home of the brave† to symbolize the ambivalence and optimism for freedom being an African American in America at that juncture and that America must be envisioned as the sentimental identity of the African American slave. â€Å"I never knew what freedom was till I got beyond the limits of the American eagle†. Douglass tries to explain that the idea of being a patriot in America differs from the reality currently going on in his time persuading his listeners to acknowledge the humanity in dehumanizing the institution of slavery. In Langston Hughes’s poem his first stanza details how he is treated unequally. â€Å"I am the darker brother; they send me to eat in the kitchen, when company comes but I laugh and eat well and grow strong.† He demonstrates that the nation he considers himself to belong under the constitution does not treat him as a superior but an inferior. The sentiment of this quote internally depicts that he feels equal to the other race. Unlike Douglass who is encouraging the people to realize their rights, Hughes is waiting for the opportune moment to rebel. The last four lines of Hughes’s poem â€Å"Besides, They’ll see how beautiful I am and be ashamed – I, too, am America† corresponds with Douglass’s insight of hope and using inequality to unmask inequality in America and orating that his race integral to the very existence of America. Hughes orates that he will endure the racial despair with hopefulness in the American promise of justice for all. Douglass and Hughes are judging that there’s no greater danger to the advancement of the African American than the country and its spirit of alienation. This will always steer up to a revolution in a country. America should be a land true to natural love of liberty and its moral humanity and guide its united people to a moral progress. They found a reason to love and identify with this country despite injustices their people had suffered continued to suffer in their days as they waited for the alternate solution.

Indirect Quotations

Indirect Quotations Indirect Quotations Indirect Quotations By Maeve Maddox Colorful, striking direct quotations enliven a news story, but not everything an interview subject says is worth quoting in its entirety. An hour of note-taking might result in a lot of information, but little in the way of pithy remarks. It’s the writer’s job to distinguish between what’s worth quoting verbatim, and what would be better paraphrased. For example, you have interviewed numerous students and faculty about a university decision against arming teaching staff. Their comments are all very similar, so you decide not to quote them directly. Instead, you quote them indirectly: Students and faculty interviewed for this story said they were relieved by the decision. Certain alterations must be made when turning a direct quotation into reported speech. Verbs, pronouns, and time adverbials are changed: Direct quotation: â€Å"I plan to climb Mount McKinley tomorrow.† Indirect quotation: Jones said he planned to climb Mount McKinley the following day. Direct quotation: â€Å"At the moment I’m performing at the Citadel, but next week I’ll be joining the cast of Grease at the Odeon.† Indirect quotation: Jack Riprock said that at the time he was playing at the Citadel, but that the following week he would be joining the cast of Grease at the Odeon. Go becomes went, is becomes was, will becomes would, and so on. Now becomes then, today becomes that day, yesterday becomes the day before, etc. The personal pronoun I becomes he or she, us becomes them, etc. The transformed quotation is frequently phrased as a noun clause introduced by that: She said that she would never forget the day she almost died. Here are some verbs other than say that a writer can use to introduce an indirect quotation: add, admit, agree, announce, answer, argue, boast, claim, comment, complain, confirm, consider, deny, doubt, estimate, explain, fear, feel, insist, mention, observe, persuade, propose, remark, remember, repeat, reply, report, reveal, state, suggest, suppose, tell, think, understand, warn, ask, know, remember, see, decide, expect, guarantee, hope, promise, swear, threaten, advise, beg, prefer, recommend, request, describe, discover, discuss, forget, guess, imagine, learn, realize, wonder, command, forbid, instruct, invite. Note, the word that does not always have to be expressed: She said she would never forget the day she almost died. Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Why Students Do Not Finish School Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Why Students Do Not Finish School - Essay Example It is documented that students from the bottom 20% income range families are 6 times at risk of dropping out of school as compared to those from the top 20% income range families. In the US, African Americans and Hispanics being among the minority communities have been noted to be more at risk due to what Blue and Cook (2004) identify as subjective norms, attitudes and perceived behavioral control The second critical factor that would cause a student not to finish school has been noted to be performance. As early as eighth grade, performance has been observed by researchers as a risk factor causing students to drop out of school. Studies by White and Kelly (2010) indicate that at eighth grade, a student exhibits 80% chance of dropping out if such a student failed in English/or mathematics and attended school not more than 80%. Closely related to performance would be the aspect of grade retention cited by Blue and Cook (2004) which has been noted to cause students to be overage at the ir grades which negatively impacts on students’ self-esteem, school engagement, peer relations and socio-emotional adjustment. Grade retention would not fix the problem but would rather send a message of failure to the respective students. Finally, psychosocial factors could be said to influence non-completion of schooling as related to motivation and personality of the students (White & Kelly, 2010). The engagement of the students, teachers and parents in education could directly predict pursuance of schooling. The lack of adult engagement in a student’s educational process poses greater risk for such a student not to finish schooling. The multifaceted nature of engagement includes identifying the appropriate school for the student and the... This paper stresses that to undertake appropriate measures that could help students remain in school, it would be critical to understand who takes the responsibility and how this could be fixed. It would be beneficial to improve school teaching curricula so as to make the school environment more engaging. Similarly, it would be important to improve instruction approach and access to support systems for struggling students including after school tuitions, summer schooling and Saturday schooling among others. Adult-student relationship in school should be fostered and the communication between the parents and the school enhanced so that the parents and teachers would work together with the students in determining the source of the problem and finding appropriate solution to encourage schooling. Finally, school administrators should ensure that the school climate fosters academics and discourages vices like discrimination and violence that could discourage other students from attending school. Thsi report makes a conlusion that ensuring that students remain in school until completion has been a major challenge in the education sector as indicated by the high prevalence rates of school dropout. Demographics, performance and psychosocial factors intertwine to determine the risk of students not completing school. These factors point out to the effective approaches to undertake so as to encourage students to stay in school. Just as the multifaceted causes of the problem, intervention approaches should also adopt various strategies simultaneously for gainful results.
